“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Hello Everyone!  I have so much to share with you about my mission trip to The Gambia, West Africa*, from the Word that God spoke to me to purity of the praise and worship we experienced to the push to strip away even more of “me” so I can be more like Him.  Yet, before I do that, in today’s devotional I wanted to share one of the blessings I received from our host church, Abiding Word Ministries.

The biggest misconception you can have about going on a mission trip is that you are going to minister to other people.  Yes you do minister to others and share the gospel, but it is what you receive in return that is truly life altering.  There is nothing more humbling than realizing that you are “richer” than those who you deem to help, but actually are poorer in joy and spirit.

In a country that is 90% Muslim, the work of Abiding Word Ministries is truly noteworthy.  Their 2012 Faith Declaration resonated in my spirit the first time I read it as this is the type of life I am trying to live and the season in which I find myself.  May the seeds of these words produce blessings and nourishment for your spirit, as they were to mine.

2012 Faith Declaration

I walk into my season of the unlimited and unstoppable, praying, praising, & worshiping God.  I am empowered by the Holy Spirit, covered by the blood of Jesus Christ and guaranteed the Father’s favor, provision, and protection.  I break free from the bondage of systems that once caged me in, and turn every stumbling block into a stepping stone.  I choose to live according to my Master’s pattern.  I esteem and follow the narrow hidden path, I lay hold of what belongs to me, and it brings me into true greatness and freedom.  Like the lion-king, I rule and like the eagle-king, I reign – over territories, unlimited and unstoppable.

I find my true form, maximize my potential, and fine-tune my skills.  By God’s grace I will scale over walls and my branches will cross boundaries.  I dare to reach the greatest of heights and depths unseen and unheard.  I will discover, exploit, and conquer virgin territories. I will fulfill my calling and purpose – unlimited and unstoppable.

I am built into a person of character and substance, tested through perseverance, coming forth as gold; a banquet set before me, a palace fit for a king/queen, a staff of authority, and a crown of glory. I cannot be stopped and I will not be hindered, I live in purposefulness and integrity, I walk in significance and prosperity, on eagle’s wings I soar, against every foe I roar, for it’s time to take over my rightful throne forever.

It is my season of dominance.
